What are the program’s values and goals?

Our guiding principle has always been that students learn by doing, so most of our courses have a strong emphasis on practical work alongside of theory.  As a result, many of our students leave here with the background necessary to begin careers in media and the arts.  On the other hand, we feel that in our media-saturated culture, everyone can benefit from a little “visual literacy”.  Even if you choose to go on in a different field – be it sociology, commerce, education, whatever – your years at Champlain will have helped provide you with some of the survival skills necessary for today’s world.
